Ranchi: The district administration will roll out a special drive from June 15 to June 28 to trace and identify leprosy patients as part of the National Leprosy Eradication Programme.
Deputy commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha held a review meeting in this regard at collectorate building on Monday. Sinha stressed on effective strategies to reach out to every household to identify leprosy patients in order to cover them under the government programme. Those present in the meeting include district leprosy prevention officer Dr Mustafi, Dr Manoj, a consultant from World Health Organization (WHO), Preeti Chowdhary, district programme coordinator, among others.
The district leprosy officer said that they have trained sahiyas for the upcoming drive to reach out to every household for the survey. Sinha also directed officials to publicise toll free number (104) for easy dissemination of information related to leprosy among public.
