Now, Arsho is patron of SSUS youth fest panel
Thiruvananthapuram: In a first, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalady, has named SFI state secretary P M Arsho as the patron of the university youth festival along with elected representatives and the varsity vice-chancellor.
The SSUS youth festival, which began on June 13 will conclude on Thursday. While MP Benny Behnan was excluded from the organizing committee of the festival, the university has included Arsho, Janadhipathya Mahila Association leader Thulasi in the committee.
Arsho was made patron along with local MLA Roji M John, university vice-chancellor, pro-vice-chancellor, registrar, syndicate members Biju X Malayil and C M Manoj Kumar. Winners of the youth festival are eligible to claim grace marks in the university examinations.
Last year, an SFI leader was allegedly awarded first prize and A grade in a Malayalam skit competition in which she never participated. Using this grace mark, she was declared to have passed the examination. It’s for the first time a student leader has been included as a patron in the university youth festival organizing committee.
Cops collect evidence, Vidya still on the run
A team of officials from Nileshwar police in Kasaargod on Tuesday visited Maharaja’s College and collected evidence in a case registered against the former SFI leader K Vidya. Police are still to track down Vidya who is also accused in a case being investigated by Agali police. Agali police too had visited the college on Monday.
