250 shuttlers to take part in U-19 badminton c’ship

KANPUR: As many as 250 shuttlers from all over the state will participate in Yonex Sunrise UP state first under-19 badminton championship for Ganesh Eco Cup slated to be held at the International Badminton Hall from June 15.
AK Agarwal, president of Kanpur Badminton Association addressing the media person stated that a prize money of Rs 1 lakh will be distributed among the winners. Neelesh Dwivedi, general manager, State Bank of India, Rajeev Rawat, deputy general manager SBI and Bharat Kumar Sajnani, company secretary Ganesha Ecosphere Ltd, Vishak G Iyer, district magistrate and Mudrika Pathak, deputy director, sports will inaugurate the meet.
After a gap of four years, Kanpur Badminton Association will be organizing the state-level event to be played in five groups-- boys and girls, single and doubles and mixed doubles.
Gajendra Rai of Azamgarh will be the chief referee and Ravi Dixit, international badminton referee and ten other referees will conduct the event.
