Pavagadh ropeway operations suspended

Vadodara: Operations of the ropeway to the Mahakali temple on the Pavagadh hill in Panchmahal district were suspended on Monday morning due to heavy winds. The ropeway will remain closed on Tuesday as well. The ropeway began operations early on Monday morning, but the services had to be stopped around 9.30am due to heavy winds on the hill. On Monday evening, it was decided to keep it closed even on Tuesday in view of the inclement weather. Resident manager of the ropeway, Vinod Prasad, said that whenever wind speeds are between 35kmph and 45kmph, the ropeway is kept under observation. “Beyond this, the operations are stopped. There is also an automated system that shuts it down when the wind speed crosses 45kmph,” said Prasad. tnn
