MG Motor India says 50% of the energy required for manufacturing operations is from renewable resources

MG Motor India has decided to implement 50 percent of sourcing of its energy needs from renewable sources, at its manufacturing facility in Halol.

Upon having secured green energy capacity of 4.5 MW for its ongoing manufacturing facilities from renewable resources, MG Motors has announced that 50 percent of its total energy requirement will be procured from green energy sources over the next 15 years.

The company has made a pledge to reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 2 lakh MT over the course of 15 years with its Gujarat based-Halol facility that will continue to draw power from CleanMax, a hybrid park in Rajkot, ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy source.

As part of its commitment to fostering a sustainable future the company is looking to push green energy-based manufacturing, the company said in a statement.
