Panaji: Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla will be on a day-long visit to Goa on Thursday. During his visit, he will address the MLAs at the Goa Legislative Assembly. Birla will call on governor P S Sreedharan Pillai at the Raj Bhavan before proceeding to the state assembly where he will address the MLAs on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat 2047: Role of Elected Representatives’. Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar will present the welcome speech. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will also address the gathering. Birla will also participate in a book release function and hand over the keys of houses constructed as part of the Shram-Dham initiative of the Shree Balram Charitable Trust to the beneficiaries. TNN
