Truck overturns, causes traffic jam

Vadodara: Major traffic chaos was witnessed at the VUDA Circle early on Monday morning after a trailer truck carrying a container with a heavy load overturned on the road. The road was cleared only by the afternoon.
According to the police, the truck was carrying material for the bullet train project. It was amongst several other such trucks that passed on the route in the early hours with material for the project.
Harni police inspector C B Tandel said that the accident took place between 5 am and 5.30 am when around 15 to 20 containers were passing by the circle.
“For some technical reasons, the trailer turned over and fell at the crossroad while negotiating the turn,” he said.
Tandel said that help of heavy cranes had to be taken to remove the truck and the container from the road.
The path was cleared by Monday afternoon. This resulted in traffic jams and chaos at the junction.
