GURGAON: Residents of Khandsa village on Monday protested against the liquor vend at the entrance of their village. The villagers alleged that people consuming liquor create nuisance in the locality and it has become an assembly point for people practising unsocial activities.
The shop, located on the service road of NH-8 near Hero Honda Chowk is at the entry point of Khandsa village. It has been in existence for the past two years.
“People consume liquor outside the shop and they urinate in front of our houses. The road remains blocked due to haphazard parking of the people coming to buy liquor from the shop,” said Avnish Raghav from Khandsa village. The shop is right at the entrance of the village and is close to the bus stop where all school buses come to pick and drop children.
The villagers filed a complaint on CM window and also submitted a complaint to deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav and the excise department on the matter.
“We will continue our protest till the liquor shop is removed from the area,” said a villager.
