Cyclone 'Biparjoy' likely to hit Gujarat's Kutch, Dwarka and Jamnagar on 15 June, check details

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister and health minister Mansukh Mandaviya held review meetings after India Meteorological Department said that ‘Biparjoy’ may do some extensive damage and it is likely to impact the Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Jamnagar districts of Gujarat the most.

Meanwhile, heavy rains lashed several parts of Gujarat’s Aravalli district.
To secure people from the cyclone, a total of 18 teams of NDRF are deployed across Gujarat with 4 in Kutch, 2 in Jamnagar, 3 each in Rajkot and Devbhoomi Dwarka, 1 each in Porbandar, Somnath, Morbi, Valsad and Junagarh. One team has also been deployed in Diu.
Apart from this, Western Railways have canceled 69 trains and 55 trains have either been short-terminated or short-originated. Also, no passenger trains are currently operating in the Saurashtra-Kutch region, said Western Railways' CPRO Sumit Thakur.
