Techie sets 4 vehicles on fire, arrested

PUNE: The Sangvi police have arrested a 35-year-old software engineer for setting three two-wheelers and a car on fire on Sunday morning in Pimple Gurav.
The two-wheelers were in the parking lot of his building, while the car was parked along the road. One of the flats in the society was blackened due to the flames and three more two-wheelers were partially damaged. Total damages were worth Rs 4.3 lakh, police said.
Senior inspector Shriram Paul told TOI that the incident happened around 3.15am.
“We have recovered the CCTV footage from the parking lot, which showed the techie setting a scooter on fire by lighting a piece of cloth with a lighter,” Paul said. “He was frustrated following family problems. He did not have any dispute with any society member. Our probe is on,” Paul added.
