Manchester United legend Paul Scholes joked Soccer Aid organisers took the 'p***' with their flag choice at Old Trafford.
The 48-year-old hit out at the decision to give fans blue and white flags - just a day after Manchester City won the treble.
Scholes may have thought he was safe from being reminded by the Citizens matching the Red Devils' feat from the 1998/99 season at United's stadium.
But prior to England's clash against the Rest of the World, thousands of supporters waved blue and white flags, with Scholes taking to social media to comment on his disbelief.
The 11-time Premier League winner, who started Soccer Aid from the bench, shared a video on his Instagram story.
Captioning the post, he said: "Somebody has got to be taking the p*** with these flags!"
It was a view shared by many fans, as one Twitter user messaged: "Oh the irony….and the day after City win the treble."
Another tweeted: "Blue and white flags at Soccer Aid? They can f*** right off."
A third added: "Day after City win the treble and soccer aid have filled Old Trafford with sky blue and white flags. Trolling at its best, love to see it."
Meanwhile this fan quipped: "Nice tribute to the neighbours. Proper respect."

Scholes got off the bench for the start of the second half, and had an instant impact as he rolled back the years with a long-range stunner.
Taking aim from outside the box, he fired in a low shot into the bottom left corner to give UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards - in goal for the World XI - no chance.
But shortly after his strike, Scholes suffered an injury following a collision with ex-United teammate Nani and limped off the pitch.
His absence was immediately felt, as Robbie Keane banged in a quickfire double, before Kem Cetinay scored late on as the World XI eased to a 4-2 win.
England, who were coached by Harry Redknapp and rapper Stormzy, have now lost at Soccer Aid for five consecutive years.
