Uttar Pradesh UPSC aspirant commits suicide after being harassed by Lucknow police
The officials noted that the victim left behind a suicide note in which he alleged that he was being harassed by the three policemen and was being falsely implicated by him in a case.

An UPSC aspirant from Uttar Pradesh died by suicide allegedly after being harassed by three policemen in Lucknow. The police confirmed the incident on Sunday. According to the officials, the victim who is identified as Ashish Kumar was preparing for UPSC examination in Lucknow.
Ashish Kumar in a suicide note accused three police officers of harassing him and falsely implicating him in a case. The suicide note was discovered by the family members of the victim. The officials noted that the victim left behind a suicide note in which he alleged that he was being harassed by the three policemen and was being falsely implicated by him in a case. This situation left him with no other option but to quit his life.
Speaking to the ANI, DCP West, Lucknow, Rahul Raj said that the three police officers have been transferred to the police lines on the grounds of a complaint filed by the students family members to ascertain a fair investigation in the matter.
The DCP noted that a case of suicide by a person named Ashish Kumar has come to light in the police station Rahimabad. He asserted that the victim’s family have given a suicide note to the police in which the names of the three policemen of Rahimabad police station are mentioned. He further added that ACP Malihabad has been ordered to investigate the matter. He also assured that the suicide note will be examined.
Furthermore, DCP West, Lucknow, Rahul Raj also mentioned that all three policemen have been transferred to the police line in an attempt to ensure that the probe is carried out in a fair and unbiased manner. He added that they are looking into the case further and that the investigations pertaining to the case are still being carried on.

Bareilly man shoots wife dead, she had got him out on bail
The accused during an interrogation asserted that he suspected his wife of cheating on him and thereby he decided to shoot her.

A 40 year old man shot his wife dead in Fatehganj west area of Bareilly on Saturday evening. The man suspected that his wife was cheating on him. The 32-year-old wife obtained bail for him about 15 days before he shot her dead in a marketplace in Fatehganj area of Bareilly.
Report claims that Krishnapal Lodhi, the accused, pumped multiple bullets into his wife, Pooja. The accused also shot his wife’s friend Munna, who is presently undergoing treatment in a hospital. The police have sent Pooja’s body for autopsy.
As per a police officer, quoted by a newspaper, the accused during an interrogation asserted that he suspected his wife of cheating on him and thereby he decided to shoot her. Krishnapal Lodhi, the accused went ahead to claim that Pooja, his wife deserved to die and so she killed her. He added that he has no regrets.
According to the police, Krishnapal had eloped with Pooja in 2012. The then couple married against their family’s consent. Later, Pooja used to run a beauty parlour in an effort to support the family.
As far as reports are concerned, Krishnapal was earlier arrested in an attempt to murder case and was put in jail. Recently, he was out on bail, which his wife secured for him. As soon as the murder took place, Krishnapal was apprehended with the murder weapon.
Bareilly SP (city), Rahul Bhati asserted that the accused has been sent to jail and an FIR has been lodged under IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder).
Pooja’s mother Sheela Devi narrated that Krishnapal Lodhi had turned into an alcoholic person. She claimed that Krishnapal used to beat her daughter every night. She continued that on Saturday, Krishnapal came home in an inebriated state and commenced hurling abuses at Pooja in front of their minor sons. After Pooja tried to confront him, he got annoyed and took out a country made pistol.
Seeing the country-made pistol, Pooja panicked and ran away from the house. Unfortunately, the accused chased her and eventually shot her dead.

Ghaziabad: Two women dead and eight people rescued in multi-storey building fire
The incident took place in Lal Bagh colony of Loni, Ghaziabad at around 6:52 am.

In a deadly fire accident in a house in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, 2 women died and at-least 8 people were rescued on Monday morning.
The incident took place in Lal Bagh colony of Loni, Ghaziabad at around 6:52 am. A short-circuit was said to have taken place at the ground floor of the building, where a tent-business was in place.
The two women dead were stuck at the first and second floors of the building, who were taken to a community health Centre but did not survive.
The victim women were 74-years-old and other 40-years-old. One of them died of asphyxiation while the other lady succumbed to burn injuries. Both the women belonged to the same family.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Loni, Rajneesh Upadhiyai said the post mortem reports were awaited.
As per the fire fighting team official, 8 people were trapped in the upper part of the building.
Chief fire officer Rahul Pal Said a tent and catering service business set-up was at the ground floor of the building. Pal added teams were rushed to the site and two fire engines from Tronica City and one from Sahibabad were sent. The fire officer said, a major fire was there at the building’s ground floor where tent house business was carried out.
He added, 8 people were trapped in the upper part of the building and were rescued by breaking a wall after fire fighters reached them using an external stair. Pal said, the building was thoroughly checked afterwards and a woman was found injured on the first floor and another on the second floor.
Pal added there had been a short circuit at the ground floor of the building as a result of which the fire broke out and that the ground floor was totally empty when the fire broke out.
Pal said that a firefighter had got injured during the rescue operation when an iron gate fell on him.

Muslims call Dehradun mahapanchayat on June 18 over tensions in Uttarkashi following Hindutva groups’ diktat to leave state
As per the Hindutva groups, the kidnapping was a case of “love jihad” and a debunked conspiracy theory through which Muslim men lure Hindu women into romantic relationships in order to convert them to Islam.

The religious leaders of Muslim community have called for a Mahapanchayat in Dehradun, Uttarakhand on June 18 to mark their protest against the increasing target of their community.
On Sunday, the Muslim Seva Sangathan media department in-charge Waseem Ahmed told that people from across the state will participate in the Mahapanchayat on June 18, the Muslim Seva Sangathan is an organization that works for the rights of the Muslims.
A cleric in Dehradun, Mohammad Ahmed Qasmi said the target of whole Muslim community rather than punishing the culprit in the attempt to kidnapping case is not fair. He further added, the objective of the Mahapanchayat is to punish the culprit, not an innocent.
The move comes days after tensions broke out in the hill state’s Uttarkashi region after Muslim traders were ordered to shut down their shops and leave the state by the right wing groups.
The conflict between the two community broke out when an alleged attempt was made to kidnap a 14-year old Hindu girl in Purola, Uttarkashi by two men, with one belonging to the Hindu community and other to the Muslim.
The accused identified as Ubed Khan, 24 and Jitender Saini, both of them locals, on May 26 allegedly kidnapped the girl and were later arrested on the next day itself. The incident led to communal tensions with the locals alleging it a matter of love jihad. Reports said, the incident led to Hindutva groups protesting and attacked several shops and houses of the minority groups.
On June 5, posters were put up at the Purola market threatening the Muslim traders to shut down their shops and leave the state by June 15. The doors of shop owned by Muslims were painted with the X mark to recognize them. Many Muslim families had to vacate the town and their shops remains closed since then.
A video of Hindutva supremacist Prabodhanand Giri is doing rounds on internet, he can be seen demanding the Jihadis should be removed from Uttarakhand. He also claimed that Jihadis are getting protection from politicians and also appeals people of the state to chant the slogan Remove Jihadi, save Uttarakhand.
Giri was among those booked for hate speech against Muslims at a conclave held in Haridwar in 2021. Hindutva body Bajrang Dal has sought permission, they have written to the Tehri Garhwal District Magistrate on June 5, stating that if Muslim traders do not leave the city, they will stage a protest on June 20.
