Dutch YouTuber physically assaulted on camera at Bengaluru's Chor Bazaar

A shocking video of a Dutch YouTuber being allegedly harassed by a local trader near the Chickpet market area in Bengaluru, Karnataka, while he was filming a vlog has gone viral on social media platforms. Identified as Pedro Mota, the individual was shooting a live video for his YouTube channel that goes by the name of Madly Rover.

Here's what happened when Mota started recording video inside market

In the video posted on YouTube, Mota can be seen taking a walk in the market when he comes across an individual who approaches him aggressively after recognizing that the Dutchman is recording a video. The man then caught hold of Mota's left arm and tried questioning him, after which the YouTuber managed to shrug him off and run away before the situation escalated.

In the description of his YouTube video, Mota wrote, "Foreigner traveling in India experiences the thieves' market in Bangalore, also known as the Sunday market or chor bazaar." "But exploring the area started out on the wrong foot as an angry man attacked me by grabbing and twisting my hand and arm, lunging after me as I tried to escape," he added.

Local activist demands police action

As per reports, the incident originally took place a few days back; however, it came to light after a video clip of it went viral online. On the back of this, local activist Brinda Adige publicly condemned the incident and demanded action. "This is completely unacceptable. Police must take action against whoever was involved," said Adige.

Accused man identified as Navab Hayath Sharif: Police

Amid massive social media outrage over the incident, Bengaluru Police took to Twitter and said, "We have informed to concerned Police Station to take necessary action in this regard." Speaking to the news agency ANI, DCP Laxman B Nimbargi on Monday confirmed that "a case has been registered against the person Navab Hayath Sharif under Karnataka Police Act Section 92."
