Sambalpur/Balangir: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday reviewed the progress of the ethanol biorefinery of BPCL coming up at Baulsingha in Bargarh district.
“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, work on the project was hit. The work is going on in full swing now. We are trying to complete the project and make it operational by September or October. I discussed with the officials and urged them to expedite the work,” Pradhan said.
“The bio-refinery is being set up at a cost of Rs 1,607 crore. Ethanol can be made from paddy straw and broken rice. The farmers of the district will benefit from the project,” the union minister added.
In Balangir, Pradhan along with minister for petroleum and natural gas Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated a state-of-the-art indoor badminton stadium at Prithwiraj High School ground. The stadium was constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. TNN
