16-year-old boy shot in Chatham gas station parking lot

A 16-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in a gas station parking lot in Chatham, Chicago police said.

The boy was shot by an unknown offender while in the parking lot on the 8000 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue around 4:10 p.m., police said.

He was hit in the right foot and taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
