Telangana to study Foxconn’s SME vendor ecosystem in China

Hyderabad, June 12 (KNN) The Telangana government is planning to send a team to China to understand iPhone maker Foxconn’s aligned SME vendor ecosystem, reported TOI.
The state government has also identified a third land parcel on outskirts of Hyderabad to offer Foxconn, the newspaper has learned.
This all are attempts to woo the Taiwanese electronics contract manufacturer which has agreed to invest USD 500 million in the state.
As per TOI sources, a team comprising members of Telangana's information technology, electronics & communications (ITE&C) department as well as Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), will be visiting China next month.
Foxconn has 12 factories in China, including its mega factory in Zhengzhou, popularly known as 'iPhone City', that has a capacity to accommodate 3 lakh workers.
“Initially, they were planning only one facility, but after the Foxconn chairman saw the progress in Telangana, they are keen on setting up more plants here,” an official source told TOI. (KNN Bureau)
