Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday said that there is "no personal interest" of anyone in bringing the opposition parties together and that the effort to unite opposition parties is driven solely by the collective goal of improving the country.

As reported by ANI, while speaking to reporters, Tejaswi Yadav said, "We have to fight those people who are destroying democracy, constitution and want to change history. We do not have any personal interest. We have taken this decision for the betterment of the country. They (BJP) lost Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh and will lose the upcoming state elections as well".

A JD(U) leader has announced that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has organized a meeting in Patna on June 23. The purpose of the meeting is to gather prominent opposition leaders and strategize on mobilizing opposition forces against the BJP in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Tejashwi Yadav had previously stated that around 15 parties are expected to participate in the meeting. Originally planned for June 12, the purpose of the meeting is to establish a foundation for the collaboration of like-minded opposition parties against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led central government.

Due to prior commitments and other engagements, several opposition leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president of the Congress party, and MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, were unable to attend the meeting on June 12. As a result, the meeting was rescheduled to a later date.
