MC razes illegal structures

Ludhiana: Continuing the drive against encroachments, the MC conducted an anti-encroachment drive in Sherpur (near Aarti steels), Jeevan Nagar road and Cheema chowk area on Sunday evening. The drives were jointly organised by the tehbazaari staff of all four MC zones. Several encroachments were removed from the sites, where traffic movement had been interrupted. The civic body has been organising regular anti-encroachment drives to remove the illegal vegetable market from the green belt in Sherpur area. Similar drives were also organised against encroachments on Jeevan Nagar road and Cheema chowk area on Sunday. MC zonal commissioner Tajinderpal Singh Panchhi and superintendent Rajeev Bhardwaj said that such drives are being organised on the directions of MC commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal. tnn
