Model killed on ramp as lighting truss falls on her in Noida

NOIDA: A 24-year-old model walking the ramp died and her colleague was injured when a portion of the lighting truss fell on them during a fashion show at a studio in Film City on Sunday.
Vanshika Chopra, who lived in Gaur City in Noida Extension, had died by the time she was wheeled into the emergency ward of Kailash Hospital, doctors said. Agra resident Bobby Raj, who was posing for the judges after his walk on the stage, suffered head injuries and underwent a small surgery for a deep wound. The manager of Lakshmi Studios in Sector 16A, where the event was being held, the organisers of the show and the private contractor who had set up the lighting truss were detained for questioning, police said.
