‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ a slice-of-life rom-com starring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan has emerged to be a surprise hit this year. The Laxman Utekar directorial has managed to achieve a big milestone - cross the Rs 50 crore mark within just ten days.
According to the box-office tracking portal Sacknilk.com, the romantic comedy earned Rs 53.55 crore within ten days of its release. The movie earned a staggering Rs 7.02 crore on Sunday (11 June).
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and announced the figures for each day in detail. “ Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a HIT… Crosses Rs 50 crore [Day 10], has ample stamina to hit Rs 70 crore… Proves all estimations/calculations wrong of skeptics, who predicted Rs 20 cr lifetime (collection)… [Week 2] Friday Rs 3.42 crore, Saturday Rs 5.76 crore, Sunday Rs 7.02 crore. Total: Rs 53.55 crore. India biz (business),” he wrote.
According to Adarsh, ‘ZHZB’ is the third highest-grossing Hindi film just after ‘Pathaan’ and ‘The Kerala Story’. The film critic also lauded the success of two mid-budget films. “ The super-success of two mid-sized films [The Kerala Story and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke] clearly indicates that content is KING and audiences are KING MAKERS,” he tweeted.

Set in Indore, ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ revolves around a couple Kapil and Saumya who have hit rock bottom in their marriage. The film is produced by Maddock Films and helmed by Utekar who had earlier delivered hits such as ‘Luka Chuppi’ and ‘Mimi’.
The movie was hailed for depicting a very believing millennial marriage and on-point chemistry between Khan and Kaushal.
On the work front, Kaushal will next be seen in Anand Tiwari's romantic comedy ‘Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam’ opposite Tripti Dimri. He will also feature in the field marshal Sam Manekshaw biopic ‘Sam Bahadur’, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
