Undercover sex sting nets 12 arrests at Rockledge's Blake Park

ROCKLEDGE — A three-month sting has resulted in the arrests of 12 men who were exposing themselves or soliciting sex at a popular Rockledge park, police said Friday.

Rockledge police began in April to target ongoing complaints of sexual activity in the wooded area and bathrooms of Blake Park, 398 Gus Hipp Blvd. Some of the activity took place as children were at the playground or others were using the skate park and walking trails, police said.

All of those arrested were men, police reported. The 12 men were taken into custody on charges related to lewd conduct and exposure of sexual organs. One of the men, a 38-year-old, told an undercover officer he had engaged in illicit activities throughout the park.

Another sat with his organs exposed in a pickup truck near the skate park as three children played there, reports show.

City officials said Friday more uniformed police will be assigned to the area.
