BHUBANESWAR: As the CBI team probing the Bahanaga triple train accident in Odisha's Balasore district has sealed the level crossing near the Bahanaga Bazar railway station from both sides, people, students and traders of at least five villages are facing problems in commuting, reports Riyan Ramanath.
The other option is to use the Ichhapur level crossing, which is about 2.7km from Bahanaga, to reach Gopalpur, Kamaripur, Sathi, Ganjina and Pandasuni villages.
The Ichhapur route becomes deserted after evening and many who finish their work in Bahanaga now wait for one or two people to accompany them to Gopalpur or Sathi. Kamaripur is the nearest place to Bahanaga (on the other side of the crossing). So, villagers are seen mostly crossing the tracks on foot, skipping the sealed portion of the level crossing. But in that case also, they have to walk more, villagers claimed.
