Jaipur: A swindler tried to bilk money from a high court judge’s account, in a bold credit card fraud attempt and ended up letting out a stream of invectives when his plot went awry.
Sources said that the incident came to the fore on June 8 and the investigation was swiftly assigned to the Special Operations Group (SOG). Officials said on ondition of anonymity that the incident occurred on June 7 when a scammer contacted the judge by pretending to be a representative from one of the country’s leading banks.
The scammer sought the credit card details of the judge and warned him that credit card services and a bank account were on the brink of being blocked if the judge did not reveal all the details.
The judge by this time also got the whiff of the scammer over the phone and refused to divulge classified details. He asked for the caller’s identity when the accused was probably caught off guard and unleashed a torrent of verbal attacks.

Rajasthan police which filed a case and deployed officers to investigate. The fact that a scammer tried to pull off a fraud on a senior judge drew the attention of cybercrime investigation units.
