11-year-old boy swims across Yamuna in 11 mins
Prayagraj: An 11-year-old boy Yug Swarup crossed Yamuna in 11 minutes here on Saturday.
A student of class 6 at Tagore Public School under the guidance of trainers Manas Nishad and Palak Mehrotra, started swimming from Meerapur Sindu Sagar ghat (Kakraha ghat) at 6.25am and crossed the river (another side of river bank) Vidhyapeeth Maheva ghat at 6:36 am.
Master trainer Tribhuwan Nishad told TOI: “The boy learnt swimming in just 14 days.” His father Shiv Swarup and mother Arpita were proud of their son’s achievement.
Shiv Swarup said: “My son was very excited about learning swimming since childhood. On Saturday, his dreams come true.” His family members, sitting on separate boats, were seen encouraging the boy when he was crossing the river.
