USA duo raising funds for polio-free world
Nagpur: US nationals Peter Teahen, 70, and John Ockenfels, 71, passionate pilots and dedicated Rotarians, landed in the city in their single-engine aircraft to raise awareness about polio eradication.
Their initiative, ‘Flight to end polio,’ has garnered support from the Rotary Club. The duo selected Nagpur as their first stop in India, following their journey from Karachi, Pakistan.
“Polio may only exist in two countries — Afghanistan and Pakistan — but until the entire world is polio-free, it remains a threat to us all. Our mission is to raise awareness and funds to support the Rotary Foundation Polio Plus Programe,” said John.
