South Legend, Ajmeri XI in cricket tournament finals

Kanpur: South Legend will clash with Ajmeri XI in the final of JC Bajpai memorial under-16 cricket tournament being played at Guru Gobind Singh stadium.
South Legend in the first semi-final outplayed GTB XI by 81 runs. Batting first, South Legend scored 229 in 35 overs while GTB in reply could collect 148 runs and lost the tie. Ashish Savita was adjudged as man of the match.

Ajmeri XI, in another semi-final humbled Rupani XI by a margin of 165 runs. Putting into bat, Ajmeri posted a total of 223 and thereafter wrapped the innings of Rupani XI on mere 58 runs. Shashwat was adjudged as man of the match.
Football league: Moon Sporting drubbed Royal Club by 2-0 in martyr Capt Ayush Yadav memorial district football league tie played at the Palika stadium on Saturday.
Moon Club displayed a better game against strong contender Royal Club and its players encashed the opportunity they got and helped to post a win. Aman in the 18th minute of the first half got a chance and his right footer beat the goalkeeper and made Moon one up. In the second half, Isha made a solo move and defeated the goalkeeper from very close range for the second goal.
Royal got the chance to get parity but perhaps the day was not there as they missed the chances to convert them into goals.
In another match, Kanpur University shared points with Maqbool Club as their tie ended in 1-1 draw. The university got the lead in the first half when Amrit netted a goal in the 7th minute. Maqbool got parity in the 65th minute when Saad Aman scored a goal.
