Mysuru: The funds being released for SC/ST beneficiaries must be utilized judiciously and completely, said deputy commissioner KV Rajendra on Friday.
Presiding over a review meeting of the department of social welfare, he said sufficient funds would be released for the welfare programmes. He also said that there were also chances of unutilized funds from other districts being diverted to Mysuru.
Stating that all government and private educational institutions must display the posters with respect to welfare schemes announced for SC & ST students, Rajendra instructed the officials to submit applications on the requirement of land for the construction of hostels for the SC and ST students. He also said that arrangements would be made to sanction CA sites through MUDA.
The officials also brought to the notice of the meeting that a proposal for the release of Rs 20 crore had been submitted to the government for the interior design, installation of seats, sound and lighting system at Ambedkar Bhavan. They also added that a proposal had been submitted to MUDA requesting a grant of land for the construction of the department of social welfare office in Mysuru.
