Tommy Fury had a short, but not too sweet cameo at Soccer Aid as manager Mauricio Pochettino hauled him off at Old Trafford.

The British boxer - who played for the Rest of the World in their 4-2 win against England - came on in the 21st minute for comedian Maisie Adam and made an immediate impact for all the wrong reasons.

He was guilty of a wayward shot that went high into the crowd after being picked out by Manchester United cult hero Nani inside the box.

Fury, who is also known for his Love Island appearance, also failed to control the ball before attempting to pull off an audacious back-heel that went nowhere.

Playing for the side due to his mother, he then tried another showboat pass, which again led to nothing.

Italian World Cup winner Francesco Totti regularly looked to play in the 24-year-old, who showed he is clearly better with his hands than he is with his feet.

His performance led to a huge reaction on social media, with some comparing him to Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, who had a nightmare game against Manchester City in the Champions League final.

The Belgian missed a glorious chance to equalise as well as getting in the way of Federico Dimarco's goal-bound header.

One fan tweeted: "Trying to work out who’s worse at football. Tommy Fury or Romelu Lukaku."

Another posted: "Tommy Fury bringing the heat with his football skills, channeling the power of Romelu Lukaku on the field!"

A third added: "Tommy Fury has been honking on #SoccerAid. Still doing better than Lukaku last night though."

Even talkSPORT's very own Mark Goldbridge got involved, as he quipped: "Still rather Tommy Fury playing up front for Inter last night instead of Lukaku."

But perhaps the tweet, which may hurt Fury the most came from KSI, the YouTuber-turned influencer boxer.

"Tommy fury should stick to boxing lmao [laughing my a*** off], he’s terrible at football." This was accompanied by a crying with laughter emoji.

Managing the World XI, Pochettino clearly had seen enough as he hauled Fury off at half-time.
