Farmers’ union to hold series of protests over ‘land loots’
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Rajya Kisan Sabha (JRKS) has chalked out a detailed plan to hold demonstrations on problems of alleged displacement of people, farmers’ issues, land loot and privatisation in the coming months.
In a state-level meeting held in Ranchi on Saturday the JRKS resolved to participate in the dharna to be held by the left parties in front of Raj Bhawan on June 28 on problems being faced by the people displaced due to various projects across the state.
The JRKS said the ‘save land agitation’ would be intensified from June 30, while farmers’ demonstrations would be held at block offices from June 20 to 30.
The organisation said on August 9, the JRKS would start the ‘Corporate Bharat Chodo’ agitation.
It stated a meeting and cultural programe would be held on August 14 to ‘save democracy and constitution and fight communalism’.
All India Kisan Sabha treasurer Krishna Prasad urged the farmers and workers to intensify agitation against the Union government policies while claiming that the Narendra Modi-led government was weakening class unity and trying to divide the tribals. He said the Centre is evading fixing of minimum support price for all crops.
