Thick black smoke billowed into the sky over Doon Mountain in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh, on February 27, 2018 as a dishevelled figure emerged from the flames and stood on the doorstep of the burning bungalow. It was Daniel Allen, a 32-year-old recluse. He was in his bare feet and screaming.
