Man, 28, dead after officer-involved shooting in Ottawa County
GEORGETOWN TWP. — An officer-involved shooting took place in Ottawa County on Saturday, June 10, an event that ended in the death of an armed 28-year-old man.
Around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office were investigating a complaint involving the unnamed man, who was allegedly threatening to kill other people, as well as himself. They located him at the end of River Avenue near Baldwin Street.
During the encounter, one of the deputies shot the man. Paramedic deputies immediately rendered aid, OCSO said, but the subject was pronounced dead at the scene by medical responders.

The incident has been turned over to the Michigan State Police, standard protocol for office-involved shootings. No deputies or civilians were injured. The deputy involved has been placed on administrative leave, also standard protocol.
