Rourkela: A contractual health worker of Sundargarh district headquarters hospital was dismissed from service on Friday by the chief district medical officer (CDMO) for allegedly transfusing B+ blood to a kidney patient instead of A+ on June 4.
The action was taken after an inquiry conducted by the ADMO. Saroj Kumar Mishra, said the CDMO. “The health worker, who had drawn blood from the patient may have wrongly pasted the B+ label with his name after testing,” he added. “Thereafter wrong B+ blood was transfused in the patient, instead of A+. Fortunately, the transfusion was stopped in time,” he added.
“We have enquired about the health condition of the patient in his home and he is fine,” said Mishra.TNN
