3 snatch scooter from teen, booked

Gurgaon: Three men have been booked for allegedly assaulting two youths and snatching a new scooter in Devi Lal colony on Saturday.
Police said Monu alias Sunil (18), Rahul (19), and Aman alias PK (18) chased 16-year-old Puneet alias Golu and his friend and snatched a new scooter the duo was on. The scooter had a temporary registration number.
Puneet’s mother Poonam Verma (40), in her complaint submitted at Sector 9A police station, claimed that her son had gone for dinner with his friend on Thursday.
While they were returning around 9pm, three men came on their bikes and chased them until they were forced to stop the scooter.
The accused thrashed Puneet and his friend with rods, snatched the scooter, and fled the spot.
Following the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 34 (common intention) and 379B (snatching and use of force) of the Indian Penal Code.
