Bird-hit delays trains

Mangaluru: A bird-hit resulted in the delay of a Mumbai-bound train by more than an hour on Saturday. According to sources from the Konkan Railway, the incident took place when 12620 Mangaluru Central-LTT Matsyagandha Express was passing between Innanje to Udupi station, between 2.21pm to 2.30pm. The lookout glass was damaged due to the incident. Meanwhile, the engine of train no 22656 Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Express was exchanged with the Mumbai-bound train, as per the control instruction. It is learnt that both the trains were delayed by more than an hour. tnn
