Hotel manager booked again for assault

Calangute: The manager of a bar and restaurant cum massage parlour in Calangute, who had recently been booked in a case of assault and extortion, has been booked again for allegedly assaulting two persons, extorting Rs 50,000 and robbing a gold chain from them.
Manu Saini, a tourist residing at Veera Vaddo Villa, Nagoa, on Friday, lodged a complaint with Calangute police that on June 2, at 3am, at the bar and restaurant at Naikawaddo, Calangute, the manager, identified as Jeevan Pawar, and another accused, confined him and his friend Kunal Saini in a room in the restaurant premises and assaulted them with slaps, fist blows and kicks. The accused also threatened them with dire consequences and extorted Rs 50,000 from a friend of his to set them free, stated the complainant.
The accused also snatched a gold chain belonging to Kunal.
