Bootlegger on run held in Gurugram
Vadodara: Seven months after he went missing, the detection of crime branch (DCB) nabbed notorious criminal Alpesh Wadhwani alias Alpu Sindhi. He was arrested on Thursday from Gurugram on the basis of a tip-off. Sindhi has been linked in a rape case filed by a girl in Gotri police station against a chartered accountant two years ago.
The girl recently turned hostile in court and said that two accused men hadn’t raped her. The cops are expected to question Sindhi about the case. Sindhi was released on parole for 10 days in October last year. He was again accused of extorting money following which a case was lodged against him.
Sindhi then fled from the city and was absconding since then. The cops finally tracked him down. He has been sent to judicial custody.
In March last year, his wife was booked for submitting a fake death certificate of Sindhi’s sister to get him bail. Investigations revealed he has no sister.
Sindhi has over 50 offences registered against him including extortion, attempt to murder, assault, flouting jail rules and attempting to come out of jail by using bogus documents.
