Varanasi: The district received 96 auxiliary nurses and midwives (ANM) selected by the
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission. UP’s Labour and Service Planning Coordination minister Anil Rajbhar and Stamp and Court Fees and Registration minister Ravindra Jaiswal gave appointment letters to the newly appointed ANMs at a function held at the Commissionerate Auditorium on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajbhar said that the Prime Minister
Narendra Modi had given the slogan of Mission Rozgar to remove unemployment. Realizing his dream, the state government started work with a resolution to give jobs to every hand. As a result, in the last six years, the state government has given jobs to six lakh people in government service, he said, adding that 14 lakh people have also been given employment opportunities in private sectors during this period.
Jaiswal said that in order to provide employment to the youth, Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has selected 7,182 ANMs in the state. Of these, 96 ANMs have been appointed for Varanasi. He expressed his hope that the newly appointed ANMs would work with full dedication and try to improve health services.
The function was also addressed by the CDO, Himanshu Nagpal, CMO Dr Sandeep Chowdhary, and deputy CMO, Dr HC Maurya.
