Vagabond stones rival to death at Nagpur railway station

NAGPUR: A vagabond, identified as Jeetendra, was killed by by his friend-turned-foe Dinsagar Sadaphule on platform number four of Nagpur railway station in the wee hours of Friday. Sadaphule, a native of Pune, stoned Jeetendra to death for abusing his family.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) managed to nab the accused within 45 minutes after scanning the footage of the CCTVs installed in the vicinity of the place where the body was found.
RPF Central Railway Nagpur division chief Ashutosh Pandey said that he would start regular action against vagabonds and beggars staying in and around Nagpur railway station immediately from Friday.
Jeetendra, a native of Chhattishgarh, would loiter, work as a labourrer and also sleep at Nagpur railway station or in the vicinity. Sources said Sadaphule and Jeetendra would regularly consume liquor together, and squabbling with each other was common between them.
Sadaphule and Jeetendra, both working as labourers, had a drunken brawl near Ganesh Tekdi earlier on Thursday. During this brawl, Jeetendra had allegedly abused the assailant and his family.
Police said Sadaphule waited for Jeetendra to fall asleep and then killed him with a stone while the victim was asleep. Sadaphule was handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP). He was subsequently arrested for murder.
Cops raid hookah parlour
The city police crime branch conducted a raid at a hookah parkour at Buti compound on the Mount Road on Thursday following a tip-off. The cops seized 10 hookah pots, flavours, beer bottles and other materials worth around ₹66,000 during the raid. The cops have booked one Nikhil Kumariya after the raid. An offence was registered at the Sadar police station.
