The Goa chess boys team secured the bronze medal at the 66th National School Games held in Delhi on Friday. Representing the State, the team was deputed by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Campal Panaji, and showcased their prowess on the national stage.
The Goan team, comprising of skilled young players Mandar Lad, Reuben Colaco, Suyash Naik Gaonkar, Rishikesh Parab, and Atharv Katkar, exhibited remarkable skills throughout the tournament.
Individual achievements were also celebrated within the team. Reuben Colaco’s exceptional performance earned him the 3rd board prize. Additionally, Rishikesh Parab’s outstanding performance on the 4th board secured him the top position, earning him the well-deserved 1st board prize.
