NH official inspects road work

Coimbatore: Chief engineer of the national highways wing of the state highways Geetha on Friday inspected the road expansion work from Saravanampatti to Karattumedu. She also inspected the road widening work from Kurumbapalayam to Puliyampatti, where the road is widened from seven metres to ten metres for a stretch of 26.9km.
The NH wing of the SH allotted 73.32 crore to expand the Saravanampatti-Karattumedu stretch to four lanes and widen the Kurumbapalayam-Annur-Puliyampatti stretch. The road expansion work has been completed from Puliyampatti to Annur. Now, the department is carrying out the expansion work from Annur to Kurumbapalayam. Geetha advised the officials to speed up the work. Superintending engineer Valarmathiwas also present.
