Dhanbad rly division wants trial run of Vande Bharat delayed
Ranchi: The East Central Railways on Friday asked the Danapur, Dhanbad and Ranchi railway divisions to ensure necessary arrangements for the trial run of the proposed Vande Bharat Express between Patna and Ranchi stations on Sunday.
In a letter to Danapur and Dhanbad railway divisions and South Eastern Railways officials, the ECR said the eight-coach train which arrived at Patna last week, will begin its trial run from Patna junction at 6.55 am on Sunday and reach Ranchi at 1 pm. It will have stoppages at Gaya, Barkakana and Tantisilwai stations in between. The train will leave for Patna from Ranchi at 2.20 pm.
When contacted, senior officials at the Ranchi railway division here said the trial run was indeed planned for Sunday and all necessary arrangements were being made.
However, the officials of the Dhanbad railway division urged the East Central Railways to postpone the trial run of the Vande Bharat Express citing a proposed bandh call by several student bodies in Jharkhand over the state government’s new recruitment policy.
