Fire breaks out in nine-storey building in Delhi's Dwarka, 85-year-old dead

NEW DELHI: An 85-year-old man died after a fire broke out in a nine-storey building in Dwarka in the national capital, on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sadan Chandra.
According to the fire department, at 8.26pm, they received a call about a fire on the seventh floor of Mass Apartment in Dwarka Sector-10.
Atul Garg, director of DFS, said nine fire tenders were sent to the spot. It was found that the fire was on two floors of the building.
"We got information that a man sustained burn injuries and was taken to the hospital by a Delhi Police PCR vehicle, where he was declared dead," he said.
Another officer said, "On the seventh floor, the blaze was in domestic articles, and on the eighth floor, the fire spread on the curtain and AC of the flat, in which Chandra got trapped and was injured."
