Bihar: Youth held for repeated rape, impregnating girl

BHAGALPUR: An incident related to continuous sexual exploitation for months of a 14-year-old girl by a 21-year-old youth has come to light in Naugachia police district following an FIR lodged by the rape survivor's father with the local police station on Thursday.
SDPO Naugachia Dilip Kumar said, "Police on registering the FIR, swung into action and arrested the youth, while the minor has been sent for medical examination."
The incident occurred nearly eight months back and the minor girl is now six-months pregnant as the youth continued to exploit her sexually and even threatened her not to disclose the incident to anyone.
The rape survivor and the boy are of the same village.
Narrating the incident, the girl's father said his daughter complained of severe stomach pain recently. On being taken to a doctor's clinic they came to know that she was pregnant. The complainant alleged that his daughter's modesty was outraged while returning home from her tuition classes nearly eight months back and she was subjected to sexual exploitation even after that.
Both the father and the uncle of the survivor alleged that the matter was reported to the mukhiya and sarpanch of the locality also and they had suggested to take their daughter to a hospital and get an abortion done, besides taking suitable compensation.
The SDPO added: "The statement of the survivor under section 164 of the CrPC is being recorded before the court. Security has been beefed up in the locality so that no one intimidates the girl or her family."
