Telangana: Gangula Kamalakar falls from boat, rescued
Police rescue civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar after he fell into a lake at a village in Karimnagar on Friday
HYDERABAD: In a second freak mishap in two months, civil supplies minister Gangula Kamalakar fell into a lake while attending a function in a village in Karimnagar. Luckily, he escaped without any injuries.
On Thursday, Kamalakar slipped and fell into the lake while getting onto a boat in Asifnagar village in Kothapalli mandal of Karinnagar district. He was quickly brought out to safety by cops and his gunmen.

Earlier in April, the 55-year-old minister was hurt in a stage collapse after too many people got on to it in Chandrabhoothkur village in Karimnagar.
His leg was injured in that mishap and he had to use a walker for some time.
This time the mishap happened while the minister was participating in programmes related to ‘cheruvula panduga’ in Karimnagar rural mandal. After checking sea food dishes at the stalls and meeting fishermen, the minister proceeded to Asifnagar village where he was invited to offer prayers to the lake. But as he was trying to get into the small fishing boat he fell into the water.
The video of the minister being helped out of the water went viral on Friday. In the video, one person can be heard saying that he had said that it was not safe to get onto the boat. After being helped out of the water, the minister went ahead with his other programmes.
On Friday, the minister participated in a programme in Karimnagar organised as part of the decennial celebrations of the formation of Telangana state.
