Patna-Ranchi Vande Exp trial run on Sunday

PATNA: Railways has decided to make a trial run of the new rake of Vande Bharat Express from Patna to Ranchi on Sunday.
The trial run will be on the new approximately 378km Patna-Gaya-Barkakana-BIT Mesra-Tatisilwai-Ranchi route with eight coaches from Patna at 6.55am reaching Gaya at 8.20am, Barkakana at 11.30am and Ranchi at 1pm.
On its return, it will leave Ranchi at 2.20pm, reaching Barkakana at 3.30pm, Gaya at 7pm and Patna at 8.25pm. It will take at least six hours from Patna to Ranchi, a Danapur railway official said.
According to sources, railways has deputed experienced traffic inspectors from both Danapur and Dhanabd divisions to make footplating (travel with loco pilots) to record minute-to-minute time during the trial run from both ends. In case of any operational glitches, expert team of railways will resolve the issue on priority, sources said.
According to ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, experts have started training railway staff at the Rajendra Nagar Coaching Complex in Patna with regard to proper maintenance of the Vande Bharat rake. Loco pilots are being trained to run properly such a modern train, he said, adding the new track route is fit to run semi-high-speed train.
According to sources, the Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi Express will continue its running schedule from both Patna and Ranchi ends.
