Raju Theth aides had made extortion calls to Gadkari & Rathore
Jaipur: The two aides of gangster Raju Theth arrested by Nagaur police for making extortion calls to Ladnun MLA Mukesh Bhakar and Rantangarh MLA Abhinesh Maharshi last week, had made similar calls to Union minister Nitin Gadkari and to leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore.
Gadkari did not respond to the call. Though Rathore did not lodge a case, he had written to DGP.
In the interrogation, the two have made shocking revelations and stated that their plan was to shift the blame of every extortion calls on Rohit Godara so that investigative agencies make result-oriented strategy to arrest him.
On June 3, the Nagaur police had arrested two men, including one Sanjay Chaudhary and also one Pawan Godara who came from Kuwait in connection to the extortion call made to Ladnun MLA Mukesh Bhakar and Ratangarh MLA Abhinesh Maharshi.
“Their plan to create an environment where a scare prevails. They had made calls to leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore. To Rathore they made a call on his landline number which was picked up by his PA. The caller claiming to be Rohit Godara threatened that Rathore would be killed,” said Ram Murty Joshi, superintendent of police, Nagaur on Friday.
According to Nagaur police, it was found that the arrested accused Pawan Godara was purposely sent to Kuwait by Sanjay Chaudhary to make such extortion calls to big political leaders and others.
“To whoever Pawan called he introduced himself to be Rohit Godara. Since Sanjay Chaudhary is a loyalist to the gangster Raju Theth who was gunned down last year, he planned to send Pawan to Kuwait and asked to make phone call. And the motive was if the police and investigative agency will believe that these calls were made by Rohit Godara, they will strengthen their plan to arrest him,” said a senior Nagaur police officer.
Both were produced in a court as their police remand was over and were sent to judicial custody. “We have got some more concrete inputs and we are developing them,” the officer added.
