MLA demands dialysis unit in Kadaba
Mangaluru: Puttur Congress MLA Ashok Kumar Rai has urged the government to open a full-fledged dialysis centre in his constituency at Kadaba. Rai met health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and submitted a memorandum to open a dialysis centre in Kadaba. “A dialysis centre is essential in Kadaba and it should be opened at the earliest. Though a dialysis centre with three units was set up at the community health centre in Kadaba, it could not be made operational due to lack of staff and infrastructure. Hence, I have requested the minister to make the dialysis centre at the community health centre in Kadaba functional with all facilities immediately,” he said.
“Patients from Kadaba taluk are forced to travel nearly 45km to undergo dialysis in Puttur or they have to depend on Sullia town. They are also forced to stand in long queues. I have also met the secretary of department of health and family welfare T K Anil Kumar,” he added.
Rai met officers from the National Highways on turning the the road between Mani and Puttur on the Mani–Mysuru NH into a four-lane stretch. He submitted a memorandum to the Centre seeking sanction for the widening of the stretch. TNN
