700 gram gold seized at Jaipur airport

Jaipur: Officials from customs department on Wednesday night seized 700 grams of gold worth Rs 43.12 lakh from a passenger coming from Bangkok at Jaipur International Airport.
“Two lady passengers coming from Bangkok to Jaipur via flight no. FD130 were intercepted at the Jaipur airport, and a detailed interrogation resulted in recovery of two cylindrical shape of gold, one each of 350 gram, from both passengers concealed in the rectum,” said officials from the customs department.
Officials said that the smuggled gold that was recovered has been seized under the provisions of Customs Act, 1962 and further investigation is underway.
