Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 21.5 points to 18656.05 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Rachana Infrastructu, Indian Energy Exchg, Infollion Research, Parin Furniture and Kshitij Polyline, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 31 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 19 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, IndusInd Bank, Britannia, Axis Bank, Tata Motors and UltraTech Cem. were among top gainers, while Tata Steel, M&M, ONGC, Infosys and HUL traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 62.3 points up at 62910.94 at 10:04AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Telecommunications, Sugar, Rubber, Tea / Coffee and Industrial Equipment sectors, while selling was visible in Trading, Real Estate, Media & Entertainment, Cables and Petrochemicals sectors.
