India countered China’s LAC, ‘delegitimised’ Pakistan terror: S Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted the significant accomplishments of the Modi government during its nine-year tenure, stating that India has transformed into a secure, self-assured, and economically stronger nation. He specifically mentioned India's firm response to China's adventurism at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the successful efforts to delegitimize Pakistan-sponsored terrorism as key achievements in foreign policy. While acknowledging that the border standoff continues to impact Sino-Indian relations, Jaishankar emphasized that there is no breakdown in communication between the two countries. He also noted that resolving the issue of "forward deployment" is in the best interest of both India and China. He clarified that most reports regarding Chinese military build-up primarily focus on activities occurring on China's side of the LAC, highlighting that the core concern lies with forward deployment rather than territorial encroachment.
